Setup & Upgrade Guide

The upgrade guide is here to smoothly transition your glowcose to use our new web app. It provides step-by-step instructions and should take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Step 1: Web app setup.

Visit glowcose.io and create an account.

Step 2: Link your CGM

Connect your CGM under the 'CGM Link' tab.

Note: Please make sure you use the device wearer account credentials not the caregivers. This can be found within the Dexcom app on the wearers mobile device.

You must have sharing enabled within the Dexcom app.

Note: Android users must have 1 follower for the share option to appear in the Dexcom app.

Verify your Dexcom credentials with the following:

https://uam1.dexcom.com (US Based)
https://uam2.dexcom.com (Outside of the US)

Step 3: Get device code.

Make note of the “Device Connection Code” from the web app interface displaying your current blood glucose reading.

Your Device Connection Code is unique to you and will be required to connect your glowcose to the glowcose web app. One device code can be used with multiple glowcose devices.

Steps 4 - 7: Clear Data and Configure Glowcose

Use the following video for steps 4 - 7 or the guide below.

Step 4: Clear Data and Enter Wi-Fi Pairing Mode

1. Unplug the USB cord.
2. Press and hold the button on the rear of your glowcose.
3. Insert the USB cord while continuing to hold the button.
4. Three quick red flashes will indicate a successful reset.

The device has been cleared and is now in Wi-Fi pairing mode which should be a multi-colored rotation.

Step 5: Setup WiFi connection.

After a moment or two, your glowcose will begin changing colors once again. This indicates 'pairing mode'.

Use your mobile device to connect to the WiFi network named “GLOWCOSE”. 

If your mobile device does not pop up with the glowcose setup page after connecting to the GLOWCOSE network, use your browser (chrome, safari, etc) and visit any website (glowcose.com) or enter 192.168.4.1 into the URL bar. 

Step 6: Pairing

Click "Configure Glowcose"

It may take a a few seconds for the Configure Glowcose page to display while it searches for available networks. 

Step 7: Setup Wifi and Enter device code.

Select your home WiFi network and enter the password. Use your unique 6 digit Device Connection Code from Step 3 and enter it into the Device Code field.

If you see the HighTarget, and Low mg/dl values ignore them as the will now be handled in the web app.

Click "Save"

Glowcose will remember your WiFi credentials and connect automatically when moved within range of your WiFi Network. Take a look at the FAQ page for tips, information, and troubleshooting help.

ALL UNITS INCLUDING NEW UNITS MUST HAVE THE FIRMWARE UPDATED TO USE THE NEW AND IMPROVED WEBAPP. SEE VIDEO BELOW TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS

Step 8 - 11: Upgrade Device Firmware

Use the following video for steps 8 - 11 or the guide below.

Step 8. Enter Wifi Pairing Mode (No Data Wipe)



1. Make sure your device is ON.
2. Press and hold the button on the rear of your glowcose for 10 seconds.
3. Three quick red flashes will indicate a successful reset.

Step 9: Setup WiFi connection.

After a moment or two, your glowcose will begin changing colors once again. This indicates 'pairing mode'.

Use your mobile device to connect to the WiFi network named “GLOWCOSE”.

Step 10: Update Page

If you have completed the prior steps you should now see "Connected" and your home networks name.

Click "Info"

Step 11: Update Firmware

Scroll down and hit the "Update" button.

IMPORTANT! - This process takes 2-6 minutes please do not unplug your device until complete.

Your glowcose should blink green, then alternate red blue, followed by blinking green again. Once completed your glowcose should now match your CGM Color.
